Paris, France – 2025 – Three major French technology players — Orange, Lynxdrone, and Optim.aize — are combining their expertise to present, at UAV Show 2025 and Orange Open Tech 2025, a full-scale demonstration of an innovative real-time airport surveillance system.
The project is supported by Bordeaux Airport, where the first tests are underway, alongside the platforms of Lyon, Nice, and Basel–Mulhouse.

A Strategic Challenge: Processing 5,000 Alerts per Day in Real Time

An airport generates several thousand alerts every day — up to 5,000 per day. The main challenge lies in managing false positives and false negatives, with one absolute imperative: never lose time, as a critical alert cannot wait.

To address this issue, Bordeaux Airport has launched a collaborative program bringing together several French technology companies. Their mission: to develop a sovereign decision-support solution capable of rapidly identifying abnormal or potentially dangerous situations (intrusion, suspicious object, unauthorized area, risky behavior, etc.).

A Unique Technological Collaboration

Orange: The Power of the 5G Network for Aviation Safety

Orange provides its 4G/5G operator platform along with its sovereign telecom APIs, enabling drone authentication, secure geolocation, 4K video streaming via the QoD (Quality on Demand) API, and intelligent, prioritized management of critical data.

Lynxdrone: 100% French Ground and Aerial Robots

Lynxdrone provides its sovereign robots — drones and ground robots — equipped with onboard cameras and artificial intelligence. When an unusual event is detected, the drone can automatically send an alert or remain continuously connected to the network to stream its information live.

Optim.aize: The Sovereign Analysis and Contextualization Platform

Optim.aize orchestrates the entire system from a command center. The company collects, contextualizes, and analyzes data from sensors and robots through its sovereign platform. The goal: to provide operators with a clear, structured, and actionable view to accelerate decision-making.

An Operational Scenario Demonstrated at UAV Show 2025 and at Orange Open Tech 2025

The demonstration proceeded as follows: the Optim.aize command center monitors alerts in real time. A Lynxdrone drone detects an abnormal event in an airport zone and automatically connects to the Orange 5G network to report the alert. The drone is immediately authenticated and geolocated via dedicated APIs, and the information is transmitted to the command center, which identifies a suspicious situation. Optim.aize requests to view the live video; Orange then activates a Quality on Demand session to stream a real-time 4K feed. In-depth analysis reveals an intruder, and the security team is dispatched to the area. Once the incident is resolved, the QoD session is terminated and the transmission is cut off. This demonstration highlights the crucial role of 5G, onboard AI, and sovereign platforms in securing critical infrastructures.

A Sovereign, Secure, and Replicable Solution

This pilot project offers a new approach for French and European airports facing increasing security challenges:

  • Drastically reducing false positives and false negatives
  • Automated analysis of sensitive situations
  • Instant transmission of critical information
  • Accelerated decision-making through data contextualization
  • Complete technological sovereignty over data flows and tools

Thanks to the synergy between these three actors, the airport benefits from a French, sovereign, scalable solution that is fully compatible with the requirements of critical infrastructures.
